Butter in Wisconsin restaurants

This is a bowl of butter.  It was in front of me a a restaurant yesterday, and I thought to snap a picture of it.  Now, this is an anomaly at most restaurants in the United States nowadays because most places have gone to margarine.  Thankfully, in the state of Wisconsin it is state law that they have to serve butter, and can only serve margarine upon request of the customer.  I’ve talked before about how margarine used to even be banned in the state until the 60’s, but this butter law remains.  I’m grateful for it because I know I can always get real butter when I’m in my home state!  When i’m travelling it’s always going to be a gamble.  Three cheers for real food!
