Oh man, diet soda is my crutch sometimes. Just because something is carb-free doesn’t mean it’s good for you though. I’ve been really trying to increase my label-reading, which is why I recently spent an inappropriately long length of time in front of the cottage cheese section this week reading the ingredients in approximately 12 different 4% fat cottage cheeses. (To save your sanity on that one, buy Daisy brand, it’s the only American brand that is just cream, milk, and salt that I could find.) Back to the soda. Full of preservatives, artificial flavors, who knows what else. I can’t just sit around and drink tap water all the time though, so I’m trying to like sparkling water.
I’m currently doing “training wheels” sparkling water by adding liquid stevia. Is that cheating? Don’t judge me. Well, if you’re wanting to try what training wheels sparkling water tastes like, here’s some a fantastic quick refreshing drink.
Sparkling Lemon Water
- 12 oz sparkling water (I’ve used lime and grapefruit flavored, both end up delicious)
- 4 oz lemon juice
- 12 drops of liquid stevia
Add lemon juice to glass, then stevia, then top it off with sparkling water. Enjoy!
