SuperHusband and I spent yesterday evening enjoying the great outdoors. Neither of us remembered to spray ourselves with bug spray, yet we barely got bit. The few places we did get bit only itch slightly, but there are no bumps on our skin. It was damp and there were plenty of mosquitos, so it sure wasn’t for lack of bugs around! I’ve been searching online to try and figure out if this is due to our low carb diet, and found similar experiences from other low carbers. From what I can gather, the ketones are a natural bug repellant, and the anti-inflammatory effects of low carb means less reaction to the few bites we did get. Have you had a similar experience since switching to LCHF?
